Note: Understanding the parts of the TCP and UDP headers and operation are a critical skill for network engineers. UDP provides transport layer support for the Domain Name System (DNS) and TFTP, among others. For example, TCP is used to provide transport layer support for the HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP) and FTP protocols, among others. Both protocols support upper-layer protocol communication. Two protocols in the TCP/IP ttransport layer are TCP (defined in RFC 761) and UDP (defined in RFC 768). Part 2: Identify UDP Header Fields and Operation by Using a Wireshark TFTP Session Capture Background / Scenario Part 1: Identify TCP Header Fields and Operation by Using a Wireshark FTP Session Capture The PC must have both an Ethernet connection and a console connection to switch S1. Part 2 will highlight a UDP capture of a TFTP session. This topology consists of a PC with internet access. Part 1 will highlight a TCP capture of an FTP session. Optional activities are designed to enhance understanding and/or to provide additional practice.
